This work consists of two large postcards. The front of these postcards depict the landscapes of Jeju Island, Korea. Upon the underside is written a very long story. This story is written for a character who received the alien registration number when it was first issued on 2nd May 1947. This character held the number “1111”. In this letter the character of the present time “B17×××××××”takes a journey in search of the very first person assigned an alien registration number “1111”.
At the root of this work, following a series based on the alien registration number, is an awareness or imagination that while the number may refer to one’s self it also refers to the existence of ‘the other’.
